Part-Time Veterinarian | South-East Melbourne

A well-established, privately owned small animal practice in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join its close-knit and community-focused team.

This opportunity has arisen as the practice continues to grow, creating the need for additional veterinary support while allowing the clinic owner to focus on the ongoing development and future direction of the business.

The practice has built a strong reputation within the local community through its commitment to patient care, client relationships and a genuine team culture. The team is made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds and life stages, united by a shared passion for delivering excellent veterinary care and supporting one another.

The Opportunity

This role would suit a veterinarian who enjoys the variety that general practice offers and is confident across both consulting and surgery. While the clinic values well-rounded clinicians, there is flexibility to tailor the role around individual strengths and interests.

Some sole charge responsibilities are required, typically at the beginning or end of the day, making previous clinical experience essential.

The Practice Offers

• Flexible part-time working arrangements
• No after-hours requirements
• Support from dedicated local emergency and referral centres
• Shared Saturday roster (currently 1 in 3, mornings only)
• A supportive environment that encourages the pursuit of special interests
• Modern equipment and facilities, with the flexibility to refer when appropriate
• A genuinely collaborative and team-oriented workplace culture
• Competitive remuneration package, negotiable based on experience

The Ideal Candidate

The successful veterinarian will:

• Enjoy the diversity of small animal general practice
• Be confident in both consulting and routine surgery
• Possess strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Work collaboratively with clients, colleagues and external providers
• Advocate strongly for patient wellbeing and clinical outcomes
• Take ownership of their work while embracing continuous learning and improvement
• Contribute positively to a supportive and engaged team culture

Why Consider This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a privately owned practice where your contribution is genuinely valued. The clinic prides itself on maintaining a positive and inclusive workplace culture, providing excellent patient care, and building long-term relationships with clients who trust and appreciate the team's expertise.

For veterinarians seeking flexibility, clinical variety and a supportive environment free from corporate pressures, this role offers an excellent opportunity to establish a long-term professional home.
