Veterinary Surgeon Wanted at a Trusted Community Practice
Up to £65,000 | Flexible Working Genuinely Considered | Private Medical

Who they are
This is a well-established small animal practice in the heart of the Suffolk countryside with over 40 years as part of the local community. The team is friendly and supportive, the clinical culture is grounded in evidence-based medicine and genuine contextualised care, and the practice has a clear philosophy — find what is right for each patient and their owner, not what fits a gold-standard template for its own sake.

The practice runs its own out-of-hours service, handled from a separate site and also covering several other local clinics in the area. The role involves some daytime weekend work with time off in lieu afterwards. Facilities include three consulting rooms, two theatres, an in-house lab, direct digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and access to an off-site CT scanner.

What you will do
You will be working across a varied small animal caseload, carrying out routine consults, basic medical workups and straightforward soft tissue surgery with support to keep developing your skills and pursue any particular clinical interests. More experienced candidates looking for something different are equally welcome — the role can be adjusted to suit.

Full or part time with flexible options genuinely available and open to discussion.

What you will gain
Up to £65,000 per annum, pro rata for part time. Five weeks annual leave plus bank holidays, with extra leave earned through long service. Private medical insurance including cover for pre-existing health conditions. Three weeks paid sick leave per year. Paid RCVS fees. Funded external CPD. Career progression opportunities. Colleague discount schemes.

What they need from you
A vet with small animal experience, confident in routine consults, basic medical workups and straightforward soft tissue surgery. Someone who values contextualised care, enjoys a close community practice and wants a role that fits around their life. More experienced vets equally welcome.
