Registered Veterinary Nurse – 12-Month FTC Maternity Cover | Up to £35,000 | Dorset Coast

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a fantastic fixed-term opportunity with no out-of-hours, an excellent work-life balance, and the chance to work just minutes from the beach? We are recruiting for a friendly, RCVS-accredited small animal practice on the beautiful Dorset coast, offering a varied nursing role within a supportive and welcoming team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-equipped practice for a 12-month maternity cover contract, starting in September/October 2026.

The Role

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll enjoy a varied caseload across all aspects of first opinion nursing, including:

• Nurse consultations and clinics
• Theatre and surgical nursing
• Inpatient care
• Reception duties
• Working closely with an experienced and supportive clinical team

The practice is modern and well-equipped, featuring advanced facilities including an in-house CT scanner, allowing nurses to fully utilise their skills.

Working Pattern

• Full-time – 38 hours per week
• 12-month fixed-term contract (starting September/October 2026)
• 1 in 4 Saturdays (8:00am – 1:00pm)
• No out-of-hours
• Closed on Bank Holidays
• Salary up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience

We're looking for a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient and client care.

You'll ideally be:

• RCVS Registered
• Friendly, compassionate and proactive
• Confident across a variety of nursing duties
• Keen to continue developing your clinical skills
• A positive team player who enjoys building great relationships with colleagues and clients
