Senior Veterinary Surgeon – Hospital Setting, Leadership Role – East London – £60,000–£80,000 DOE

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to step into a senior GP role within a large, busy London hospital — combining hands-on clinical work with team leadership and mentorship. 🐾

About the Hospital
This large, well-established veterinary hospital in East London provides first opinion, emergency, critical care and referral services, supported by a network of 20 local branches. The team is large and collaborative, comprising approximately 25 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs and a dedicated front-of-house team. Facilities are outstanding, with on-site CT, a commercial laboratory, advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, minimally invasive surgery and a strong medical team — all under one roof.

The Role
Working 40 hours per week on a 6-weekly rotational basis, you'll work across consulting, surgery, ward and ECC. The rota includes 1 in 3 Saturdays, 1 in 6 Sundays, up to 2 bank holidays per year and inclusion in a last-resort on-call rotation. Senior responsibilities include leading and supporting the GP vet team, acting as a VetGDP Advisor for new graduates, driving evidence-based clinical standards, and championing a positive, productive working environment alongside the Head Vet and Hospital Manager.
