📍 About the Practice & Location:

Situated in the West Midlands, this world-class, state-of-the-art hospital is internationally recognised for clinical excellence and innovation. The facility is equipped with industry-leading diagnostic and surgical equipment, including:

  • 🩻 Siemens 64-slice CT & Siemens 1.5T MRI

  • 🖥️ Two digital radiography suites & advanced ultrasonography

  • 🔬 Video endoscopy & electrodiagnostics

  • 🦾 Extensive advanced surgical equipment & two in-theatre mobile image intensifiers

🤝 About the Role and Team:

You will join a collaborative and highly supportive Emergency Vet and Intern team, fully backed by an incredible squad of dedicated Emergency and Night Nurses. In this role, you will manage a diverse and rewarding emergency caseload with 24/7 support from ECC Specialists, allowing you to focus on high-quality inpatient and critical care with excellent nurse-to-vet ratios. 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

You will also collaborate daily with internationally recognised Specialists across every major discipline, including Anaesthesia, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, and Orthopaedics. 🧠💡

🔄 Rota Overview (8-Week Cycle): Designed specifically to support wellbeing, this balanced mix of day, evening, and overnight shifts builds in three full weeks off every cycle!

  • Week 1: Monday–Sunday (7am–5pm)

  • Week 2: 😎 Off

  • Week 3: Monday–Sunday (4pm–2am, on-call 2am–5am)

  • Week 4: 😎 Off

  • Week 5: 😎 Off

  • Week 6: Monday–Thursday (12pm–10pm), Friday (2pm–12am)

  • Week 7: Tue–Thu on-call (7pm–11pm), Friday (11am–9pm), Saturday (10am–8pm), Sunday (7am–5pm)

  • Week 8: Monday (7am–5pm), Tue–Thu on-call (8am–12pm)

✔️ About You (To be considered)

To thrive in this high-performing hospital environment, you will need:

  • 📜 A minimum of two years’ experience in a small animal hospital setup.

  • 🏥 Experience working within a hospital or referral setting is highly preferred.

  • 🌙 Out-of-hours (OOH) emergency medicine and surgery experience is desirable.

  • 🤝 A team-focused approach, strong communication skills, and a commitment to clinical excellence.
