Clinical Freedom, Quick Decisions, Real Work-Life Balance | Up to £60,000 FTE | Flexible Hours
Stoke, United Kingdom
Who they are
This is a light, spacious and beautifully located standalone small animal practice in Cheshire, sitting in the heart of a characterful market town surrounded by stunning countryside and within easy reach of Manchester. Owner-led, independently run and certified as an Autism Friendly Surgery — this is a practice that genuinely thinks about the environment it creates for both its team and its clients.
The owner is an experienced RVN with a wealth of clinical knowledge and interests spanning wound management, radiography and surgery, and is on hand day to day to make decisions quickly and with the input of the whole team. Clinical freedom is real here, not aspirational — vets are trusted to treat patients with the best care possible without being second-guessed at every turn.
The team consists of three vets including two highly experienced clinicians and one more recent graduate with a special interest in exotics, alongside three RVNs, one SVN and two receptionists. The practice has digital X-ray, ultrasound, blood pressure monitoring and full in-house laboratory facilities. CPD and certificate study are actively supported.
What you will do
You will be working across a varied small animal caseload, carrying out medicine and surgical procedures with complete clinical freedom and the support of an experienced team around you. The practice has a vet with a special interest in exotics so there is variety across species if that appeals. Full and part time hours are available with genuine flexibility on the rota — ideally Monday, Wednesday and Thursday but open to discussion.
One in four Saturday mornings from 9am to 12 noon. No out of hours. No Sundays.
What you will gain
Up to £60,000 FTE depending on experience. Contributory pension scheme. Paid RCVS and VDS memberships. Exclusive company discounts and rewards. Regular team days out. A genuinely supportive, friendly environment with real clinical freedom and an owner who is accessible and decisive.
What they need from you
An experienced vet competent in both medicine and surgical procedures, who values clinical freedom, enjoys being part of a close-knit community practice and wants a working pattern that fits around life as well as work. Someone who appreciates a practice where opinions are genuinely taken on board and decisions are made quickly.
