Salary: £35,000–£39,000 DOE | Full-Time | 4-Day Week | No On-Call

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse ready to step into a leadership role? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, well-established small animal practice in South West London, where you'll lead a dedicated nursing team, mentor future nurses and help deliver outstanding patient care in a supportive and friendly environment.

The Role

As the Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with the veterinary team to maintain high clinical standards while supporting and developing your colleagues.

You'll be responsible for leading the nursing team, mentoring Student Veterinary Nurses and ensuring the practice continues to deliver exceptional care to both patients and clients.

This role is ideal for an RVN who enjoys leadership, organisation and making full use of their clinical nursing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the nursing team
  • Mentor and supervise Student Veterinary Nurses
  • Assist Veterinary Surgeons during consultations and surgical procedures
  • Deliver high standards of inpatient nursing and patient care
  • Utilise Schedule 3 nursing skills
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and clinical standards
  • Complete controlled drug audits and ensure compliance
  • Help manage the daily operation of reception
  • Deliver exceptional client care and communication
  • Support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice

The team has built an excellent reputation within the local community and enjoys a loyal, established client base, with many insured patients allowing cases to be worked up to a high standard.

You'll also benefit from the support of a dedicated Regional Manager and access to a leading 24-hour veterinary hospital for referrals and out-of-hours patient care.

Working Pattern

  • Full-time – 40 hours per week
  • Option to work across 4 days
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays at the branch
  • 1 in 10 Sundays at the supporting hospital
  • One bank holiday per year
  • No on-call requirements

About You

You'll be an experienced RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys supporting others and helping practices thrive.

You'll ideally have:

  • RCVS registration
  • Previous experience within a busy small animal practice
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Confidence mentoring colleagues or Student Veterinary Nurses
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Passion for delivering exceptional patient care

Leadership experience is welcomed but not essential, as full leadership training is provided to support your transition into a senior role.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £35,000–£39,000 depending on experience.
