Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) looking for your next step within a supportive small animal practice?
An established small animal veterinary practice in Surrey is looking for a confident RVN to join their friendly team and play an important role in supporting the continued development of the practice.
This could be an excellent opportunity for an RVN who enjoys taking ownership of their nursing responsibilities and is looking for a role offering clinical autonomy, variety and a fantastic four-day working week.
The Role
You'll be joining an established first-opinion practice with a loyal client base and a strong reputation within the local community.
The practice is well equipped with facilities including dental equipment and digital X-ray, alongside a supportive wider veterinary network for more complex cases when required.
You'll work closely with the Veterinary Surgeon and Veterinary Nursing Assistant, helping to support the team and contribute to their ongoing development.
Working Pattern
- 4-day working week
- Fixed weekday off
- Shared Saturday rota
- Occasional weekend commitments
- Limited bank holiday rota
- No on-call requirements
- Support available from a wider veterinary hospital network
About You
We're looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse who:
- Is confident working within a small animal first-opinion environment
- Enjoys taking ownership of their nursing responsibilities
- Is comfortable working with a degree of autonomy
- Has excellent patient and client care skills
- Enjoys supporting colleagues and developing other team members
- Is organised, proactive and compassionate
- Wants to become part of an established, close-knit practice
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing consistently high-quality nursing care
- Supporting the Veterinary Surgeon with consultations and procedures
- Monitoring inpatients and maintaining accurate clinical records
- Ensuring excellent patient comfort and welfare
- Preparing, cleaning and maintaining clinical equipment
- Managing medication, diets and consumable stock
- Supporting the induction and training of new team members
- Providing reception support when required
- Supporting student nurses with their clinical development
- Maintaining a positive and collaborative team environment
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this Registered Veterinary Nurse role is £35,000–£39,000 FTE, depending on experience.
