Permanent / Long-Term Veterinarian – Stockholm, Sweden

A friendly and well-established small animal clinic in Stockholm is looking to welcome an experienced veterinarian on either a permanent or long-term locum basis.

The practice offers a varied first-opinion caseload and is seeking a confident clinician who enjoys managing cases independently while working collaboratively with a supportive nursing team.

The Role

This opportunity would suit a capable small animal GP veterinarian looking for a broad, rewarding caseload within a modern community-focused clinic.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Small animal consultations
  • Diagnostic workups and clinical decision-making
  • Interpretation of laboratory and blood test results
  • Preventative healthcare and medicine cases
  • Sedation and anaesthetic monitoring
  • Routine and minor surgical procedures
  • Dentistry
  • Soft tissue surgery where appropriate
  • Ultrasound examinations (if experienced)

The role is primarily focused on delivering excellent first-opinion care rather than specialist referral work.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong small animal clinical experience
  • Confidence working independently
  • Excellent consultation and client communication skills
  • Experience managing medical and surgical cases
  • Competence with routine surgical procedures and dentistry
  • Soft tissue surgery experience (preferred)
  • Basic ultrasound skills (advantageous)
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach to practice
  • A commitment to high standards of patient and client care

The Practice

The clinic is conveniently located close to Stockholm's public transport network and benefits from a loyal client base and supportive working atmosphere.

Facilities include:

  • Dedicated surgical facilities
  • Separate dental suite
  • Ultrasound equipment
  • Dental radiography
  • In-house laboratory capabilities
  • Day hospitalisation facilities

Working Pattern

  • Monday to Friday
  • 08:00 – 17:00
  • One-hour lunch break
  • No overnight hospitalisation responsibilities

Package

  • Permanent salary dependent on experience and skill set
  • Long-term locum arrangements available
  • Supportive and experienced clinical team
  • Opportunity to join a growing practice with ongoing recruitment plans

Key Requirement

The practice's priority is securing an experienced veterinarian who can confidently manage consultations, routine surgery and day-to-day clinical cases, with soft tissue surgery and ultrasound skills viewed as significant additional strengths.
