Located in Plymouth, Devon, this role offers an incredible quality of life with stunning South Devon coastlines, beautiful beaches, and Dartmoor National Park right on your doorstep. 🌊⛰️

The practice combines the close-knit feel of a branch surgery with the support and facilities of a nearby 24/7 purpose-built hospital. 🏢 ✨

Equipment and facilities available include:

  • 3 Operating theatres (including a dedicated orthopaedic theatre) 🩺

  • CT, digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and laparoscopy 📸

  • 7 Consultation rooms, species-specific wards, and isolation facilities 🐱🐶

  • Fully equipped in-house laboratory 🔬

👨‍⚕️ About the Role and Team:

This role is predominantly based in a branch setting, allowing you to build lasting relationships with clients and follow cases from start to finish. You’ll enjoy a diverse first-opinion caseload alongside opportunities to get involved with orthopaedics, laparoscopic procedures, and emergency & critical care cases. 🐕💉

You’ll be joining a collaborative team of 14 Vets and 25 RVNs/SVNs, supported by a dedicated Client Care Team. The team includes certificate holders in exotics, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, and diagnostic imaging, as well as visiting specialists in cardiology and ophthalmology. 🤝💙

Working Pattern:

  • 📅 Full-time: 4 days per week (typically 9am–7pm)

  • ⏱️ Part-time: Welcomed from 20 hours per week

  • 🔄 Weekend Rota: 1:5 (Sundays are emergency-only shifts)

  • 🚫 No additional OOH or on-call commitments!

🎯 About You (To Be Considered)

  • A confident GP Vet who enjoys a good mix of consulting and surgery 🩺
  • RCVS registration is essential 📜
  • Please note: Due to the independent nature of the branch work, this role is not suitable for new graduates 🚫
  • A team player keen to develop clinical interests or explore new ones 📚

  • Vets with a specific interest in cardiology or dermatology are particularly encouraged to apply! ✨
