Looking for a small animal role where work–life balance is genuinely protected (not just promised)? This friendly, well-supported first-opinion practice in West Yorkshire is open to full-time, part-time, consult-only or a tailored rota—built around what works best for you.

The practice

You’ll be joining a modern, well-equipped site delivering high-quality first opinion care (routine through to more complex medical and surgical work-ups), with a strong emphasis on continuity and doing things properly.

Facilities include:

  • State-of-the-art ultrasound (suited to abdominal + cardiac studies)
  • Digital X-ray
  • Flexible + rigid endoscopy
  • Plus additional modern kit to support thorough case work-up

They’re also involved in supporting a local hedgehog charity, which is a nice reflection of the team’s community feel.

The role & rota

This one is all about flexibility and sustainability:

  • 15-minute consults
  • Protected admin time + proper breaks
  • Time for follow-ups and continuity
  • Caseloads that can be tailored to your clinical interests

A typical full-time pattern is 40 hours over 4 weekdays (08:30–19:00) plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (09:00–13:00, consults only), but they’re very open to alternatives (including part-time and consult-only setups).

Support & development

You’ll be working alongside an experienced, genuinely supportive team (Vets, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs and reception), with a culture that prioritises collaboration and wellbeing.

Highlights include:

  • Certificate support available
  • Encouragement to develop your own clinical interests
  • Mental Health First Aider on shift

Package

  • Salary up to £70,000 DOE
  • £5,000 welcome bonus
  • £5,000 relocation allowance
  • 6.6 weeks’ holiday including bank holidays
  • Private medical insurance
  • Enhanced family leave (maternity/paternity/adoption/surrogacy)
  • BVA membership, VDS cover & RCVS fees
  • Cycle to Work / Green Car schemes (eligibility applies)
  • Retail discounts & cashback offers
  • Reduced-cost veterinary care for your own pets

How to apply

If you’d like a quick, confidential chat first (and to tailor the rota around what you want), just reply with:

  • Your preferred working pattern (FT/PT/consult-only)
  • Any key clinical interests
  • Ideal commute area
