━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The Opportunity
An experienced Veterinary Nurse is required ASAP to provide additional support to a small animal GP team in Gisborne, New Zealand.
The clinic is looking for an experienced nurse who can come in, settle quickly into the team and provide some much-needed hands-on clinical support over the coming weeks.
Ideally, they would love to find someone who can commit to a full Monday to Friday roster for at least a few weeks, although there may be some flexibility depending on your availability.
This is a role where experience really matters. The clinic needs someone who can hit the ground running, confidently manage their day-to-day nursing responsibilities and require minimal training or supervision.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The Role
This is a small animal GP nursing position with a strong focus on hands-on clinical nursing rather than reception.
Your responsibilities will include a mix of:
- Surgical nursing
- Nurse consultations
- General clinical nursing
- Patient monitoring and care
- Supporting vets with day-to-day procedures
- General small animal GP nursing duties
- Working alongside and supporting the existing nursing team
Previous experience with RxWorks would be a bonus, but it is not essential.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a highly capable and experienced Veterinary Nurse who is comfortable stepping into a new clinic and getting straight to work.
You will ideally be:
- Experienced within small animal general practice
- Confident with surgical nursing
- Comfortable conducting nurse consultations
- A strong all-round clinical nurse
- Able to work independently and use your initiative
- Adaptable and comfortable joining a new team
- Able to work with minimal training or supervision
- Available to start ASAP
- Ideally able to commit for at least a few weeks
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The Roster
The clinic’s ideal arrangement would be:
Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 5:00pm
They would ideally like someone who can provide consistent full-time support across the working week for a block of several weeks.
However, if you’re an experienced nurse and your availability doesn’t line up perfectly with the full roster, we’d still be interested in hearing from you.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Travelling to Gisborne?
You do not necessarily need to be based locally to be considered.
The clinic is open to discussing accommodation support for an experienced locum who would be willing to travel to Gisborne for the placement.
The exact arrangement can be discussed depending on your location, availability and the length of the block you can commit to.
This could be a great opportunity for an experienced locum wanting to lock in a solid block of work while spending some time in a different part of New Zealand.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Interested?
If you’re an experienced Veterinary Nurse who could provide some additional support over the coming weeks, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you can commit to the full Monday-to-Friday roster or only have a portion of the block available, get in touch with your earliest start date and availability, and we can discuss whether we can make it work.
ASAP availability is highly desirable.
