The Opportunity
I’m looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to assist a regional small animal clinic in Tom Price, WA from 4 November 2026 onwards.
The clinic needs someone who can stay for as long as possible, with a minimum one-month block strongly preferred. If you’re available for several months or interested in a longer regional placement, they would absolutely love to hear from you.
To make getting there as straightforward as possible, flights and accommodation are provided for the placement.
This is a one vet, one nurse clinic, so it’s important to be upfront that this role requires someone experienced, confident and comfortable working independently.
You will be the sole Veterinary Nurse working alongside the clinic’s veterinarian, rather than joining a larger nursing team.
The role will include:
- Small animal general practice
- Surgical nursing and theatre support
- Consultation support
- Hospital patient care
- General nursing and clinic duties
- Working independently and managing the nursing workload
- Working closely alongside the sole veterinarian

What’s on Offer
- 4 November 2026 start
- Ongoing requirement, stay as long as you can
- Ideally a minimum 1-month commitment
- Flights provided
- Accommodation provided
- Attractive locum rates
- Consistent block of regional work
- Opportunity to experience regional Western Australia
- Longer placements very welcome

About You
Due to the clinic setup, this position is best suited to an experienced, confident all-round Veterinary Nurse who is comfortable taking ownership of the nursing side of the clinic.
You will need to be:
- Certificate IV qualified
- Experienced within small animal GP
- Confident with surgical nursing
- Comfortable assisting with consultations and hospital patients
- Organised and able to manage your workload independently
- Confident working as the sole nurse
- Happy working within a small regional team
This won’t be the right placement for someone who needs a larger nursing team around them day-to-day. However, for a confident nurse who enjoys autonomy, wants to experience regional WA and likes the idea of having their flights and accommodation taken care of, this could be a fantastic opportunity.
If you’re available from 4 November and could commit to at least one month, or potentially much longer, I’d love to hear from you.
Send me a message or email tahlia.paull@gvcvets.com with your availability and I can provide further information on the clinic, rates and logistics.
