Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice, 20-Minute Consults, No OOH – £55,000–£75,000 DOE
A brilliant opportunity to join a proudly independent, purpose-built small animal practice in South East London — where clinical freedom, genuine team culture and personalised care are at the heart of everything. 🐾
About the Practice
This independently owned small animal practice in South East London is just over a year old and has already built a loyal, friendly client base and a reputation for warm, personalised veterinary care. Both practice directors are hands-on and present day-to-day — meaning your voice and ideas genuinely shape the way the practice grows.
The team is tight-knit, carefully selected and genuinely passionate — comprising two experienced senior full-time vets and a dedicated nursing team.
The clinic is modern and purpose-built, with:
- Digital X-ray, dental X-ray and ultrasound
- Spacious operating theatre
- Two spacious consulting rooms and a dedicated RVN consult room
- Separate cat ward
- In-house laboratory
- A comfortable staff welfare space
Consultations are 20 minutes as standard, with complete clinical freedom to work up cases how you see fit. This is a practice bringing back the warmth and personality of a true local clinic — where colleagues feel supported, clients feel known and pets get genuinely personal care.
About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours across a 4-day week, with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm). There is no OOH and no bank holiday working. 🙌
A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience is required, with confidence in occasional sole charge work if needed. The role is varied across first-opinion consults, surgery and inpatient management — with full clinical freedom and the support to work up cases properly.
