Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice | North West London

Salary up to £70,000 | 4-Day Week | Accommodation Available

Ready for your next move? This opportunity won’t be around for long!

GVC are assisting an established independent small animal practice in North West London with the recruitment of an experienced Veterinary Surgeon. With a team of eight vets, years of combined clinical experience and accommodation available as part of the package, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, experienced team where you can hit the ground running.

The practice hasn’t recruited for this position in some time, making this a rare opportunity to join a well-established team. If you’re looking for a varied GP role with a healthy balance of consultations and surgery, this could be the perfect next step.

The Role

You’ll work across a varied small animal caseload, with a genuine mix of medical consultations and surgical procedures. This is a traditional, well-rounded GP position suited to a confident vet who enjoys all aspects of first-opinion practice.

  • Salary up to £70,000, depending on experience.

  • Four-day working week.

  • Varied shift patterns, including early and late shifts.

  • A fair, shared rota with flexibility around requests for days off.

  • Weekend rota of 1 in 5, covering Saturday and Sunday.

  • No bank holiday working.

  • 28 days’ annual holiday.

  • £1,500 CPD allowance plus four days of paid CPD leave.

  • Certificate support available for vets looking to develop their clinical interests.

  • Accommodation available at either of the practice’s sites, included as part of the package.

  • Mileage paid for travel between sites.

The Team

You’ll be joining an established team of eight vets, bringing a wealth of clinical knowledge and experience.

The team includes two vets with over 20 years of experience, alongside a vet currently undertaking an Internal Medicine certificate and colleagues with around two to five years of experience.

This is an environment where you can learn from experienced clinicians, share knowledge and enjoy the support of a well-established team. The practice is looking for someone who is confident in general practice, capable of managing a varied caseload and ready to become a valued member of the team.

The Practice

The independent practice operates across three sites, including a main hospital and two branches.

The main hospital offers a varied caseload with a mixture of consultations, medical work and surgery. The branches provide a combination of consultations, vaccinations, boosters and routine procedures.

You’ll primarily work as part of the main clinical team, with some branch work depending on the rota. Rotas are planned six weeks in advance, and the team aims to share shifts and weekends fairly.

The practice treats small animals, with occasional exotic cases also seen by members of the team with particular interests in this area.

About You

We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:

  • Has at least four years’ post-qualification experience.

  • Is confident with both consultations and routine surgery.

  • Enjoys working as a well-rounded GP vet.

  • Can manage a varied caseload and hit the ground running.

  • Values teamwork and enjoys working alongside experienced clinicians.

  • Holds a full driving licence and has access to their own car.

Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Interested? Don’t leave it too late!

This is a rare opening within a well-established independent practice, offering an experienced team, a varied GP caseload, a four-day week and the added benefit of accommodation.

With a salary of up to £70,000 and a position that is unlikely to remain available for long, now is the time to explore the opportunity.
