Who they are

This is a well established small animal practice in North West London with a calm, considered way of working and a real focus on being dog and cat friendly. The practice holds ISFM Gold standard accreditation, and that thoughtfulness runs through everything from how patients are handled to how owners are updated and supported.
The team is small and close. Two vets, three RVNs, two VCAs, two cattery assistants and two receptionists all work closely together, and the nursing team plays a genuine part in the day to day running of the practice. Student nurses are trained here too, so there is a real culture of teaching and sharing knowledge. The practice is closed on Sundays and bank holidays. Open to newly qualified RVNs too. 

What you will do

Your working day is varied and hands on. You will set up for procedures and calculate drugs, manage inpatients, coordinate with the VCA and cattery team on the cats in the cattery, run nurse consults and admissions, prepare medications, handle calls and admin, support lab work and surgery and help train student nurses. Clear, confident communication with owners is a big part of the role, including discussing and updating them on their pets.

Will suit a nurse who prefers quality patient care and time to do things properly over speed. Hours are 40 per week, with shifts of 8am to 5pm or 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday and one in three Saturdays from 9am to 6pm with a day off in lieu.
