WVC 2026 was a big week for the veterinary community, and an even bigger one for GVC.

Held annually in Las Vegas, the Western Veterinary Conference is where the profession comes together to learn, connect, and shape what’s next for animal health. With practitioners, practice leaders, and industry partners all in one place, it’s one of the most dynamic events on the veterinary calendar – and this year did not disappoint.

It was the first time our UK, Australia, and US teams were all together in one place, representing our truly global footprint and shared commitment to veterinary careers everywhere.

A Conference That Matters

From the moment the doors opened, conversations flowed. Whether it was deep dives into career goals or light moments sharing stories from around the world, WVC reminded us that face-to-face connection can’t be replaced.

We had incredible engagement with attendees, and we were thrilled to give away a MacBook Air (congratulations again to Shauna!)

For us, the real value came from the quality of the discussions – genuinely listening, understanding priorities, and exploring how GVC can support veterinary professionals at every stage.

What the Team Took Away

We asked our team to reflect on their WVC experience – here’s what they shared in their own words:

Jack (Aus Office)

Travelling from Australia, the sheer scale of things in the USA really is amazing. It’s been fantastic to “hard launch” our Dallas office and spend time with the team on the ground.

Sue and Carter have been incredible and are building something really special. Hearing people say, “You guys are everywhere” has been a great reminder of just how much our global network is growing and how connected our community has become.

Sue (US Office)

I really valued the opportunity to reconnect with the veterinary community on a larger scale – meeting, engaging, and strengthening relationships with our corporate partners, while also speaking with candidates we can support in their transition to new opportunities.

It was also amazing to work alongside our phenomenal extended GVC team. Having us all together really showcased the strength of our global network.

Carter (US Office)

WVC was a great opportunity to really get to know Jack, Mike, and Sue while working towards a shared goal: connecting directly with DVMs and practice managers. I valued hearing Jack speak with aspiring travel DVMs about international logistics, and teaming up with Michael to build on existing professional relationships around relief staffing solutions.

I also learned a lot listening to Sue’s conversations with practice managers and relief DVMs, picking up more of the industry-specific language and insight that makes a real difference in how we communicate.

Michael (UK Office)

WVC 2026 was a brilliant reminder of why I love this industry. Across a few intense days, I had meaningful conversations with veterinarians at every stage – from new grads planning their first career steps, to seasoned vets weighing lifestyle and case mix.

It was equally rewarding to reconnect with hospital leadership groups and receive such positive feedback on how GVC is raising the bar. I’m incredibly proud of how our team showed up together – representing three continents, staying curious, and supporting one another.

What We’re Taking Forward

There’s a recurring theme that WVC always highlights – relationships still win.

Yes, events, tools, and technology are critical. But in our space, trust and connection drive results. At GVC, we’re proud to listen, guide, and support across borders and career stages. And ultimately, we’re proud to consistently deliver great outcomes for the vet community we serve.

If you’re a veterinary practice navigating growth, or a veterinary professional thinking about your next move, these conversations don’t start and end at WVC.
