About the Opportunity

On behalf of a leading healthcare education institution, we are supporting the recruitment of an Assistant/Associate Professor of Anatomic Pathology for a newly established College of Veterinary Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to join a founding faculty team and play a key role in shaping a modern, student-centered veterinary curriculum grounded in clinical relevance and innovation.

The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary faculty to design, deliver, and continuously enhance academic programming, while mentoring students and contributing to a growing academic community in Billings, Montana—an area offering excellent quality of life and access to outdoor recreation.


Primary Purpose

To support the academic, professional, and personal development of veterinary students through teaching, curriculum development, and scholarly activity within the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, with a focus on Anatomic Pathology.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Curriculum Development

  • Deliver lectures and facilitate small group learning sessions in Anatomic Pathology

  • Develop, review, and enhance course materials

  • Create and evaluate examination content

  • Contribute to ongoing curriculum design and innovation

Research & Scholarly Activity

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in Anatomic Pathology or related disciplines

  • Contribute to institutional research priorities such as One Health, Wildlife & Conservation Medicine, Climate Change, Zoonotic Diseases, and Public Health

  • Mentor veterinary (DVM) and graduate students in research initiatives

  • Develop research opportunities suitable for student involvement

  • Collaborate across departments to support interdisciplinary research efforts

Service & Institutional Engagement

  • Participate in faculty governance and departmental meetings

  • Contribute to faculty evaluations and academic committees

  • Support broader institutional initiatives and academic development


Minimum Qualifications

  • DVM from an accredited institution


Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD from an accredited institution

  • Board eligible or board certified in Anatomic Pathology or a related specialty

  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in Anatomic Pathology research

  • Experience with collaborative, interdisciplinary research
