The Opportunity

Global Veterinary Careers is supporting an exciting new College of Veterinary Medicine in Montana, seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor specialising in Equine Medicine and Surgery.

This is a rare opportunity to join a brand-new veterinary programme at its inception, playing a key role in shaping a modern, student-focused curriculum designed to meet the evolving demands of the profession. You will collaborate with a forward-thinking faculty team to deliver high-quality education while contributing to research and innovation in veterinary medicine.

The Role

• Deliver lectures and facilitate small group teaching sessions
• Contribute to curriculum design, course development, and assessment materials
• Support and mentor veterinary students throughout their academic journey
• Develop and review examination content
• Participate in departmental and university committees
• Engage in faculty collaboration and programme development

Research & Academic Focus

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in Equine Medicine and Surgery
• Contribute to key research areas including One Health, Wildlife & Conservation, Zoonotic Diseases, Climate Change, and Public Health
• Mentor DVM and graduate students in research activities
• Develop extension and continuing education programmes
• Collaborate across departments to enhance research output and academic impact

• Salary ranging from $149,864 to $196,539 depending on experience

Requirements

• DVM and/or PhD from an accredited institution
• Board eligible or board certified preferred
• Experience or strong interest in Equine Medicine and Surgery
• Passion for teaching, mentorship, and curriculum development
• Interest in research and collaborative academic work
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
