About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant or Associate Professor of Large Animal Nutrition to join the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education, research, and professional development of veterinary students within a collaborative academic environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing student learning through high-quality teaching, mentorship, and research in large animal nutrition and related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Contribution

  • Deliver lectures within the Veterinary Biomedical Sciences curriculum
  • Facilitate and lead small group teaching sessions
  • Review, develop, and contribute to course materials
  • Develop and review examination questions
  • Support the delivery of a high-quality veterinary education experience

Research & Scholarly Activity

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in Large Animal Nutrition
  • Contribute to institutional research focus areas, including:
    • One Health
    • Wildlife & Conservation Medicine
    • Climate Change
    • Zoonotic Diseases
    • Public Health
  • Develop research projects suitable for veterinary student participation
  • Mentor and advise DVM and graduate students in research activities
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration across departments and faculty

University & Departmental Service

  • Participate in Faculty Senate activities
  • Attend departmental meetings as required
  • Contribute to faculty evaluations
  • Serve on college and university committees

Candidate Requirements

  • DVM (required)
  • Board eligibility or board certification preferred
  • Strong interest and/or experience in Large Animal Nutrition research
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to contribute to teaching and scholarly activity
  • Collaborative approach with an interest in interdisciplinary research
