This is a rare opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon and leader to shape a brand-new practice from the ground up, combining clinical excellence with strong team and business leadership.
The Opportunity
As Clinical Director, you’ll take ownership of the overall performance of the clinic – clinical, financial, and people. You’ll have the autonomy to lead your team within an established framework, supported by a wider leadership group.
You’ll set the standard for clinical quality and patient care, lead a talented veterinary team, and play a key role in establishing the clinic’s presence in the local community.
Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership:

Deliver and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.

Spend approximately 80% of your time in clinical work.

Lead by example in evidence-based medicine and clinical excellence.

Oversee CPD, education, and clinical governance within the team.
Business Performance:
Drive membership and client acquisition strategies.
Contribute to local marketing and community engagement.
Manage clinic budgets, KPIs, and financial performance.
Oversee HR, recruitment, and health & safety.
Team Leadership:
Line manage and develop the veterinary team, Head Nurse, and Practice Manager.
Foster collaboration, communication, and professional growth.
Conduct regular one-to-ones, team meetings, and performance reviews.
Culture & Wellbeing:
Champion a culture of respect, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Promote open communication and early support for any issues.
Represent the clinic positively in the local and wider veterinary community.
About You

MRCVS-qualified Veterinary Surgeon with proven leadership experience.

Passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based veterinary care.

Skilled in team management, communication, and strategic thinking.

Commercially aware with an understanding of practice performance metrics.

Enthusiastic about building a positive culture in a new and growing clinic.
