Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to progress into a leadership role? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Head RVN to join a busy, RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital in Cheshire, supporting the leadership of a large nursing team while remaining actively involved in clinical nursing.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your management and mentoring skills within a modern, progressive veterinary hospital equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities.
The Role
This permanent, full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week, worked across 4 or 5 days.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Head Nurse with the day-to-day running of the nursing team
- Leading and mentoring Animal Care Assistants and supporting Student Nurses
- Delivering exceptional patient and client care
- Assisting with rota management and team coordination
- Maintaining high clinical standards, protocols and infection control procedures
- Supporting stock management and equipment maintenance
- Contributing to clinical governance, audits and Practice Standards Scheme compliance
- Working closely with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team
- Opportunity to become involved in advanced services including CT imaging (full training available)
