Position: Veterinarian – Consult-Only Role (Full-Time)
A well-established and highly regarded veterinary hospital in Adelaide is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join its team in a consult-only capacity.
With more than 30 years of trusted service to the local community, this hospital has built a loyal and engaged client base. Many clients are long-standing, multi-generational pet owners who are highly committed to achieving the best outcomes for their animals. This enables the team to practise high-quality, evidence-based medicine in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Purpose-Built Hospital
The clinic operates from a large, thoughtfully designed facility where both patient care and team wellbeing are prioritised.
- Soundproof consulting rooms
- Individually air-conditioned consult spaces
- Consult rooms with direct outdoor access for large or anxious dogs
- Dedicated dental suite
- Spacious surgical and imaging areas
- Comprehensive in-house laboratory (including blood gas analysis and clotting times)
Complex soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries are performed in-house, with intensive overnight cases referred to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
Ultrasound services are performed most days, with opportunities to further expand this area. Additional internal medicine support is provided through regular in-hospital specialist consulting.

Consulting Structure
Appointments are designed to prioritise quality care:
- 40-minute consults for new puppies, euthanasia, and complex cases
- 20-minute consults for routine appointments
The focus is on thoughtful, thorough medicine rather than high-volume throughput.

Hours & Remuneration
- Full-time position
- 5 shifts per week on a rotating roster (Monday–Sunday)
- Typical shifts: 8:00am–4:00pm or 12:00pm–8:00pm
- Overtime paid after 38 hours
- Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 (commensurate with experience)
