Kieron Wineberg at GVC – Global Veterinary Careers is proud to be partnering with two well-established small animal hospitals in Hobart and Kingston, Tasmania, to recruit experienced Veterinary Nurses to join their close-knit and collaborative team.
These hospitals are known for their compassionate approach to patient care and their supportive, team-focused culture. Due to continued growth, they are seeking experienced nurses ready to contribute to a professional and positive working environment.
About the Role
This position is ideal for a Certificate IV qualified Veterinary Nurse with at least 1–2 years of in-clinic experience, who is confident across general nursing duties and comfortable monitoring anaesthetics.
You will work across both hospital locations, gaining exposure to a varied and rewarding caseload within a well-supported team environment.

Responsibilities
-
Assist veterinarians with routine consultations
-
Surgical and hospital nursing, including anaesthetic monitoring
-
Pre- and post-operative patient care, including client support
-
Medication preparation and administration
-
Admission and discharge of hospital and surgical cases
-
Communicating treatment plans to clients
-
Blood collection, pathology testing, IV catheter placement
-
Assisting with radiography and ultrasound
-
Instrument sterilisation and maintaining hospital standards

General nursing and reception duties as required

Maintaining a clean and professional clinical environment
About You

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience

Strong medical and surgical nursing skills

Calm under pressure with excellent organisational abilities

High attention to detail

Confident communicator with clients and colleagues
