Veterinary Surgeon
Independent Clinic | North London

Opening January 2027 | Salaries from £40,000 to £90,000

Ready to be part of something different?

Global Veterinary Careers are recruiting for a beautifully designed, independent veterinary clinic opening in North London this January. This is an exciting opportunity to join a next-generation veterinary business that combines exceptional clinical care with a premium, personalised experience for pets and their owners.

Whether you're an ambitious Junior Vet looking to develop your skills, an experienced Senior Vet ready for your next challenge, or an established Lead Vet with a passion for clinical excellence and leadership, there's an opportunity to make your mark.

With modern facilities, advanced diagnostic equipment and a carefully selected team of veterinary professionals, this is your chance to help shape the future of independent veterinary care.

The Opportunities

Lead Veterinary Surgeon | £80,000–£90,000

  • Ideally 6+ years' experience.

  • Lead clinical standards, team development and overall clinic performance.

  • Help drive innovation, client experience and business growth.

Senior Veterinary Surgeon | £60,000–£75,000

  • Ideally 3–6 years' experience.

  • Support clinical excellence, team wellbeing and day-to-day clinic operations.

  • Play an active role in developing the practice and its client relationships.

The Clinic

This isn't your traditional veterinary practice. The clinic has been thoughtfully designed to create a contemporary, welcoming environment for both pets and their owners, while providing the equipment and facilities needed to deliver exceptional care.

Facilities include:

  • Three consulting rooms, including a dedicated feline consult room.

  • Advanced imaging suite with digital static X-ray and Vetus 50 ultrasound.

  • Dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray equipment.

  • Sterile surgical theatre and endoscopy/laparoscopy equipment.

  • Modern anaesthetic machines, ventilators and patient monitoring systems.

  • Extensive in-house laboratory facilities with 70+ tests available.

  • HTVista scanners for assessing lumps and bumps.

You'll have the opportunity to make full use of these facilities while developing your clinical interests and delivering high standards of first-opinion care.

The Team & Your Role

Each clinic has a team of approximately three Veterinary Surgeons and a similar number of nurses. The business is committed to recruiting talented, clinically capable professionals who enjoy working collaboratively and supporting one another.

You'll be confident in first-opinion consultations, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, with an interest in developing your own clinical niche. Further qualifications or a desire to pursue certification are welcomed, with interests such as dentistry, ophthalmology, laparoscopy, neurology, oncology and geriatric care particularly relevant. Orthopaedic or advanced internal medicine experience would be an advantage.

For Lead and Senior positions, you'll also contribute to the wider success of the clinic through:

  • Maintaining exceptional clinical and client care standards.

  • Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues and nursing teams.

  • Promoting structured clinical protocols and evidence-based care.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve clinical outcomes and operational performance.

  • Building strong relationships with local clients and supporting community engagement.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for veterinary professionals who are passionate about delivering excellent care and excited by the opportunity to do things differently.

You'll ideally be:

  • A confident and capable Veterinary Surgeon with strong surgical and anaesthetic experience.

  • A personable communicator who enjoys educating clients about treatment options and preventative healthcare.

  • Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working in a growing business.

  • Keen to contribute ideas, improve processes and embrace new ways of working.

  • A supportive team player who takes ownership and approaches challenges constructively.

Previous sole-charge experience is desirable, particularly for more senior positions. Leadership candidates should be comfortable supporting junior colleagues, guiding nursing teams and taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the clinic.

Hours & Benefits

  • Full-time position: Five 8-hour shifts per week.

  • Opening hours: 9am–6pm, Monday to Sunday.

  • Weekend rota: One in three weekends, including Saturday and Sunday.

  • Annual leave: 5.6 weeks, including public holidays, increasing to 6.6 weeks after one year.

  • CPD: £1,000+ annual allowance plus three days of paid CPD leave.

  • Pension contribution.

  • RCVS membership.

  • Discretionary VDS membership.

  • Staff discounts on treatments and medication for your own pets.

  • Private medical insurance for you and your dependants.

  • Life assurance and critical illness cover.
