Head Veterinary Nurse – Surrey

Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE | Contract: Permanent | Hours: Full Time

The Role

• Full-time Head Veterinary Nurse position
• Lead, support and develop the nursing team
• Help shape the day-to-day running and continued development of the practice
• Maintain high clinical and regulatory standards
• Nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities
• Support consultations, surgery and procedures
• Patient monitoring, admissions and discharges
• Coach and develop colleagues
• Work closely with the Practice Partner and wider leadership team
• 8-hour shift at a nearby 24-hour hospital every fourth weekend, alternating between Saturdays and Sundays
• Participation in the hospital on-call rota
• Opportunity to maintain and broaden your clinical skills through exposure to more complex cases

As part of a wider hospital network, you’ll also have access to experienced hospital teams, advanced diagnostics, modern equipment and additional clinical support when required.

About You

We’re looking for an RCVS-registered RVN who is confident leading, motivating and supporting a nursing team.

You may already be a Head Nurse looking for a fresh challenge, or an experienced RVN who feels ready to take the next step into leadership.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who is organised, proactive and passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care, while helping colleagues develop and thrive.
