Head Registered Veterinary Nurse – South East London

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) ready to take the next step into leadership? This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, well-supported small animal practice in South East London, offering career progression, clinical development, and a genuine work–life balance.

The Role

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • 4-day working week with 9.5-hour shifts
  • 1 in 6 weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital
  • 2 bank holidays per year + 1 on-call week annually
  • Lead and support a busy nursing team in a community-focused practice
  • Remain hands-on clinically with a mix of leadership and patient care
  • Play a key role in developing clinical standards and team growth

About You

You’ll be a RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care.

  • Confident in leading, mentoring, and developing a team
  • Strong clinical skills across nurse consults, inpatient care, and theatre work
  • A proactive, organised approach to managing workflow and standards
  • Excellent communication and client care skills

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of patient care and monitoring
  • Lead nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures
  • Support consults, surgeries, and clinical procedures
  • Oversee patient admissions and discharges
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and team development
