GVC are assisting a well-established veterinary group in Surrey with the recruitment of a Head Veterinary Nurse to join their team under new ownership.

With a brand-new owner at the helm, there is a real opportunity to help shape the future of two established practices. The vision is simple: modern veterinary care, an exceptional client experience, a happy and supported team, and doing things the right way.

With two sites located within easy commuting distance of one another, they are open to appointing a Head RVN at each practice, or someone who would enjoy taking on a wider leadership role across both.

🐾 The Role

You’ll be a key part of the leadership team, working closely alongside the Lead Vet and helping to create a positive, progressive environment for both the nursing team and wider practice.

For someone looking to make their mark, this is an exciting opportunity to have a genuine influence over how the practices develop.

If working across both sites, the role would be split across the week, with 2 days at each practice, totalling 40 hours per week.

The weekend commitment is just one 8-hour shift every 4 weeks.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide strong clinical leadership, inspiration and support to the nursing team
• Lead, mentor and develop RVNs, SVNs and Patient Care Assistants
• Deliver exceptional patient and client care
• Support nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities
• Oversee patient monitoring, admissions, discharges, surgeries and procedures
• Help maintain excellent clinical, regulatory and operational standards
• Work closely with the Lead Vet to support the clinical direction of the practice
• Encourage a positive, collaborative and forward-thinking nursing culture
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, standards and patient care
• Help create an environment where the whole team can thrive

About You

You’ll be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with strong clinical experience and a genuine passion for developing people.

We’re looking for someone who can lead from the front, inspire those around them and bring energy and ideas to the team.

You’ll be confident managing a nursing team, but equally comfortable getting stuck into clinical work yourself. Most importantly, you’ll want to be part of a practice that is moving forward and is committed to doing things properly.
