Global Veterinary Careers is working with an independent, family-owned veterinary practice in the Doncaster area that is looking for an experienced and motivated Head Veterinary Surgeon to lead their clinical team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the practice’s clinical direction, drive continuous improvement, and inspire a team committed to delivering outstanding patient care 🐾

This purpose-built, modern practice offers excellent facilities and a supportive, highly skilled team. Colleagues work across a range of specialities, with many pursuing further qualifications to enhance clinical services. The practice provides a varied caseload in a professional yet friendly environment 🌟

About the Role & Team:
The Head Vet will be a key member of the practice’s management team, leading and supporting the clinical team to deliver gold-standard, evidence-based care. This role is perfect for a veterinary surgeon who enjoys coaching, mentoring, and inspiring colleagues. Responsibilities include setting clinical standards, overseeing patient care, and contributing to the strategic vision of the practice.

Working Pattern:

  • 4 days per week
  • 1 in 4 weekends
  • No out-of-hours work, though on-call duties may be required for overnight inpatients

About You:
The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified veterinary surgeon with significant clinical experience 🩺
  • Have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and coach a team
  • Be passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based veterinary care
  • Thrive on a varied caseload and enjoy working in a collaborative environment
  • Be proactive in implementing improvements and driving clinical excellence
