Veterinary Surgeon – Hybrid Day & ECC
Location:Â West London
Salary: Up to £75,000

The Role – Hybrid Day & ECC:
- Hybrid role covering both day shifts and night ECC shifts.
- Opportunity to continue developing ECC skills while working with a trusted, experienced day team.
- Example rota:
- 1 week on nights, 1 week off, 3 weeks on days, 1 week off
- Night shifts: 6:45 PM – 8:15 AM
- Day shifts: 8:30 AM – 6:45 PM (hospital shifts usually go until 7 PM)
- Perform surgeries, diagnostics, and manage inpatients independently.
- Work as the sole vet during Night shifts with RVN support.
Essential Technical Skills:
- Experienced in full patient management: consultation, diagnostics, treatment, hospitalisation.
- Surgical procedures: gastrotomy, enterotomy, splenectomy, cystotomy, GDV, wound management, limb/digit/tail amputation, fracture & spinal emergencies.
- Competent in ultrasound, radiography (A-FAST, T-FAST, EPIC), endoscopy, blood gas analysis, CPR, and perfusion management.
Responsibilities:
- Consultations for new patients and inpatients.
- Diagnostic investigations and reporting results promptly.
- Surgical interventions and stabilisation for surgery if indicated.
- Accurate clinical record keeping, client communication, and confident case management as sole vet with RVN support.
- Ensure high-quality care for all admitted patients until fit for discharge.
Preferred Skills (Not Essential):
- Advanced surgical procedures: liver lobectomy, GI stapling, nephrectomy, adrenalectomy, orthopaedic surgery.
- Advanced ophthalmology, endoscopy, echocardiography.
- Official veterinarian status preferred.

- Extensive surgical instrumentation: suction, stapling devices, AO sets, electrosurgery.
- Spacious staff areas and well-equipped kitchens.
