Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Rotating shifts across two sites, including weekends and occasional nights (with allowances and recovery days)

About the Practice:
GVC are assisting a proudly independent, RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital and general practice in Norfolk. Established in 2013, the practice now has two sites and a thriving team of nearly 70 professionals.

The Role:
The practice is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing team. This role is ideal for vets with at least 1 year of experience (ideally 5–6 years qualified) who are confident in first-opinion work and wish to further develop their clinical and consultative skills.
You’ll have the support of a strong nursing team, senior veterinary surgeons, and management, and you’ll also play a role in mentoring colleagues where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct consultations, investigations, and surgical procedures across both sites.

Maintain high clinical standards with accurate record keeping and timely communication.

Collaborate closely with veterinary, nursing, and administrative teams.

Manage inpatients and emergency cases, including day-to-night handovers.

Support the Head Vet and Senior Management Team in driving practice values and innovation.

Mentor colleagues or support EMS student placements as required.
Requirements:

RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon (or eligible to register)

Minimum 1 year of experience (ideal 5–6 years) in small animal practice

Confident in first-opinion medicine and surgery

Excellent communicator with client-focused approach

Working Pattern:
-
Shifts rotated across the Hospital and General Practice
Core shifts:
-
Early: 7am–4pm
-
Day: 8:30am–5:30pm
-
Late: 10am–7pm
-
Weekends: 1 in 5 rotation (Saturday consults + emergency cover until Monday AM)

Nights: 1 in 9 rotation (7pm–7am) with night allowance + 7 days recovery

Supported at all times by Head Vet and Senior Vet rota
