Looking for a leadership role where you can genuinely influence clinical standards, mentor a growing team, and still enjoy being hands-on with medicine and surgery?

We're working with a modern, purpose-built small animal clinic in Brisbane's northern corridor that is seeking a Lead Veterinarian to join its growing team.

This opportunity offers the chance to step into a true clinical leadership role within a well-supported environment, where you'll have the freedom to shape standards, mentor colleagues, and pursue your own clinical interests.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary package based on experience

  • Flexible roster arrangements

  • Mix of consulting and surgical caseloads tailored to your strengths

  • CPD allowance plus study leave

  • Free access to a comprehensive veterinary training centre

  • Paid parental leave

  • Wellbeing programme and employee benefits

  • Opportunity to influence the direction of a growing clinic

The Clinic

This is a brand-new, purpose-built facility designed to support high-quality veterinary care and provide an enjoyable working environment for both staff and clients.

You'll be joining a collaborative team consisting of:

  • 5–6 veterinarians

  • 8 experienced support staff

  • Dedicated nursing team

  • Dedicated reception team

The clinic sees a diverse caseload across medicine, surgery, preventative healthcare, and urgent care, providing excellent variety and ongoing opportunities for professional growth.

The Role

This is a genuine leadership position that combines clinical work with mentoring and team development.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Manage a varied caseload across medicine and surgery

  • Mentor and support veterinarians within the GP team

  • Assist with professional development and performance coaching

  • Support the ongoing growth of nursing and support staff

  • Drive clinical standards and best-practice protocols

  • Help shape the clinic's clinical vision and culture

  • Build strong relationships with clients and the wider community

  • Work closely with a skilled and collaborative team

The role offers a balance of leadership responsibilities while remaining actively involved in clinical practice.

Facilities & Equipment

You'll have access to modern diagnostic and surgical equipment including:

  • Digital radiography

  • Ultrasound

  • In-house laboratory equipment

  • Modern surgical facilities

  • Comprehensive diagnostic capabilities

The clinic encourages thorough case workups and supports veterinarians who want to continue developing their skills and areas of interest.

About You

This opportunity would suit an experienced veterinarian who enjoys mentoring others and wants to play a key role in shaping a positive clinic culture.

You will:

  • Hold a BVSc or equivalent and be eligible for registration in Queensland

  • Have approximately 4+ years of small animal experience

  • Be confident in both consulting and surgery

  • Enjoy supporting and developing team members

  • Have strong communication and client relationship skills

  • Be motivated to help drive clinical excellence

  • Enjoy working collaboratively within a team environment

Previous leadership experience is welcomed, although veterinarians looking to take their first step into leadership are also encouraged to apply.

Why Consider This Role?

Many Lead Vet roles focus heavily on administration and management.

This opportunity is different. You'll remain clinically involved while helping shape the future of a growing clinic, mentoring colleagues, and creating an environment where both patients and team members can thrive.

If you're looking for a role where your ideas are valued and your leadership can genuinely make a difference, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
