We're recruiting on behalf of one of Queensland's leading animal welfare organisations for a Lead Veterinary Nurse to join their Domestic Hospital in Wacol.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head Nurse, Lead Nurse or Senior Veterinary Nurse who's ready to step into a broader leadership role while remaining connected to the clinical floor.
You'll work closely with the Veterinary leadership team to mentor staff, improve workflows and help shape the future of the hospital.
The Role
This is a genuine leadership position where you'll have the opportunity to influence both people and processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, mentoring and supporting the veterinary nursing team.
- Coaching and developing nurses, trainees and hospital assistants.
- Managing onboarding, training and ongoing development.
- Supporting performance conversations and career progression.
- Working closely with senior leaders to improve hospital operations.
- Helping develop workflows and clinical processes.
- Supporting rostering, stock management and day-to-day operations.
- Remaining clinically involved by assisting with medical and surgical cases when required.
About You
You're an experienced veterinary nurse who enjoys helping others succeed.
You lead by example, communicate well and are passionate about creating a positive team culture.
We're looking for someone with:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent).
- Previous leadership, Head Nurse or senior mentoring experience.
- Strong medical and surgical nursing skills.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Strong organisational abilities.
- A collaborative, solutions-focused leadership style.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and developing others.
