Locum Overnight Veterinarian | Samford Valley, QLD | 2–3 Nights Per Week

Role: Locum Veterinarian | GP & ECC
Dates: Early September – Early October 2026
Hours: 10:15pm – 7:00am
Frequency: 2–3 shifts per week

A veterinary hospital in Samford Valley is looking for a Locum Veterinarian to assist with overnight coverage from approximately the beginning of September through to the beginning of October.

This could be a great opportunity for a confident GP veterinarian who has some exposure to emergency work and would like to build further ECC experience within a supportive hospital environment.

Roster Options

The hospital can currently offer either:

• Sunday & Monday nights, or
• Wednesday, Thursday & Friday nights

There is some flexibility within the existing roster, so availability can be discussed for veterinarians who may only be able to commit to certain nights.

The Role

The position will involve a combination of emergency presentations and general veterinary work within a hospital environment.

The team is particularly interested in veterinarians with a strong GP foundation who are comfortable managing emergency cases or keen to further develop their ECC skills.

About You

Ideally, you will:

• Have solid small animal GP experience
• Have some previous exposure to ECC or emergency cases
• Be comfortable working overnight shifts
• Be willing to assist across both GP and ECC cases as required
• Enjoy working collaboratively within a hospital team
• Be keen to continue developing your emergency and critical care skills

You do not need to come from a dedicated ECC background. The hospital is happy to support and train veterinarians with a strong GP skill set who are interested in gaining further emergency experience.
