Locum RVN – University Teaching Clinic | London

Teaching-Focused Role | April & May Dates | 8:30am–4:30pm

If you’re an experienced RVN who enjoys mentoring, leading and actually using your clinical knowledge; this is something a bit different.

GVC is working in partnership with a university-led Veterinary Teaching Clinic in London to support upcoming April and May clinic dates, building a small pool of confident, senior RVNs.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on teaching environment where you’ll work alongside academic and clinical teams, supporting fourth-year veterinary students as they develop practical skills in:

• Anaesthesia
• Surgery (routine neutering)
• Post-operative care

You won’t just be “covering a shift” ; you’ll be guiding, supervising and shaping future vets, while maintaining high clinical standards throughout.

The Role

Acting as the lead RVN on clinic days, you’ll:

• Supervise small student groups throughout procedures
• Support anaesthesia and theatre activity
• Oversee patient care from admission through to discharge
• Ensure smooth, organised clinic flow
• Provide structured feedback to students
• Maintain excellent clinical, welfare and hygiene standards
• Work closely with academic, RCVS and technical staff

This is a responsibility-led role where confidence and leadership are key.

About You

This role would suit:

✔️ Highly experienced RVNs
✔️ Clinical Coaches or those with mentoring experience
✔️ Nurses confident in anaesthesia + theatre
✔️ Calm, organised individuals who enjoy leading

The Details

• London
• Tuesday and Wednesdays throughout April and May 
• Shifts: 8:30am – 4:30pm
• £20-£30 phw DOE
• Umbrella payroll
