The Opportunity
If you’re a confident GP Vet looking for a well-supported, genuinely friendly independent practice, this is a lovely opportunity to settle into a consistent locum booking across multiple blocks.
You’ll be joining a close-knit team where there’s proper structure to the day, good clinical support, and time to do your job well – not just rush through consults.
The Practice
This is a well-established, purpose-built independent small animal practice with a strong local reputation for delivering high-quality, personal care.
You’ll be working alongside a supportive and experienced team of 3 Vets and 5 RVNs, plus a wider support network including VCAs, reception, and a Practice Manager.

The Role
This is a GP locum role with a good balance of consults, routine surgery, and occasional emergencies.
You’ll need to be comfortable working independently at times, but always with a strong team around you.
✔️ Consults, routine ops, and emergency work
✔️ 20-minute consults as standard
✔️ RVN support during consults
✔️ Small animal only
Dates & Flexibility
There are multiple booking blocks available, offering great continuity:
- June
- July
- August
- September
Preferred working days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
Hours & OOH
Weekdays: 8:30am – 6:30pm
✔️ Protected 1-hour lunch break (practice closes)
OOH:
- 1 night per week (on-call only)
- Very low call-out frequency
Weekends:
- Ideally 1 Saturday morning per block
Salary & Benefits
✔️ £450–£500 per day (DOE)

You’ll be a confident small animal vet who is comfortable with both consults and routine surgery.
This would suit someone who enjoys being part of a team, values good support, and is happy to contribute to a light OOH rota.
