🩺 Consults-Only Considered for Strong Medicine Vet

The Opportunity

A really lovely locum opportunity has become available within a highly regarded independent small animal practice in Gloucestershire, with a selection of ad hoc dates available throughout July and August 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to work within a genuinely friendly, family-run environment that prioritises both patient care and team culture.

The practice already works regularly with returning locums who consistently provide excellent feedback about the team, working environment, and overall support available.

For a particularly strong medicine-focused vet, the practice is also happy to consider a consults-only arrangement.

The Practice

This is a long-established independent practice with an excellent local reputation and a strong emphasis on compassionate, community-focused veterinary care.

The practice operates across two modern branch sites, both offering well-equipped facilities and a collaborative team environment.

Key Highlights Include:

  • Independent family-run practice
  • Long-standing reputation within the local community
  • RCVS accredited environment
  • Advanced diagnostics including CT scanning facilities
  • Modern ultrasound and laboratory equipment
  • Supportive and experienced clinical team
  • High clinical standards with continued investment in equipment and development
  • Friendly and welcoming culture with strong client relationships

The practice combines the feel of a genuinely local veterinary clinic with the facilities and standards of a progressive modern practice.

The Role

You’ll be working as a Locum Veterinary Surgeon supporting the existing team across a varied first-opinion caseload.

Typical Duties Include:

  • First-opinion consultations
  • Routine surgery (where applicable)
