The Opportunity
I’m looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join a busy small animal GP clinic in South Hedland, WA from Monday 14 September 2026.
The clinic would ideally love someone who can commit to at least a one-month block, although if you’re able to stay for longer, even better.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced nurse wanting to spend some time working regionally without having to organise all the logistics yourself, with flights, accommodation and a vehicle provided for the placement.
Unlike some smaller regional clinics, this is not a sole charge nursing position. South Hedland is a busy practice with a varied caseload, so you’ll be working as part of the clinic team.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The Role
You’ll be working across the usual range of small animal GP nursing responsibilities, including:
- Surgical nursing and theatre support
- Hospital and inpatient care
- Consultation support
- General nursing duties
- Patient handling and monitoring
- Supporting the veterinary team across a busy and varied caseload
- General day-to-day clinic responsibilities
The clinic is looking for a confident all-rounder who can settle into a new environment quickly and contribute to the team from the outset.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Clinic Hours
Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Sunday: Closed
There is also after-hours work available for nurses who are interested in picking up additional work.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
What’s Provided
- Flights to and from a major Australian airport
- Accommodation for the duration of the placement
- Vehicle provided
- Attractive locum rates
- Ongoing work available
- Minimum one-month blocks preferred
- Longer placements very welcome
- Opportunity to pick up after-hours work
- No sole charge nursing

About You
This role would suit an experienced Veterinary Nurse who is:
- Certificate IV qualified
- Experienced within small animal GP
- Confident with surgical nursing
- Comfortable with hospital and patient care
- Able to work effectively within a busy clinic
- Adaptable and able to settle into a new team quickly
- Interested in experiencing regional Western Australia
If you’re available from 14 September and could spend at least a month in regional WA, or potentially stay for much longer, I’d love to hear from you.
With flights, accommodation and a vehicle all provided, it’s a great opportunity to experience a different part of WA while securing a solid block of locum work.
Send me a message or email tahlia.paull@gvcvets.com with your availability and I can provide further information on the clinic, rates and logistics.
