The Hospital

Global Veterinary Careers is working with a well-established, full-service small animal hospital in South Carolina seeking a Medical Director to lead its clinical team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian looking to step into leadership while still remaining hands-on clinically. The hospital has a long-standing presence in the community and is known for delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care.

With modern facilities and a supportive team in place, you will have the platform to shape clinical standards, influence hospital direction, and drive continued growth.

The Role

• Full-time Medical Director position combining clinical and leadership responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and develop the veterinary team
• Oversee medical standards and clinical protocols
• Maintain a hands-on clinical caseload including surgery, medicine, and preventative care
• Collaborate with management on hospital performance and growth
• Schedule within operating hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm, and Saturday, 8:00am to 1:00pm

Requirements

• DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited university or equivalent
• Eligible for veterinary licensure in South Carolina
• Proven clinical experience with an interest in leadership
• Strong communication, mentoring, and team-building skills
• Commitment to delivering high standards of veterinary care
