Mixed Animal Veterinarian – Full Time

An excellent opportunity is available for a motivated and progressive Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join a well-established, independently owned veterinary group operating across two modern clinics in Melbourne’s north-eastern corridor. This role offers exposure to a varied and rewarding caseload, strong team support, and an outstanding workplace culture.

The caseload is approximately 70% small animal, 15% equine, and 15% mixed animal, making this an ideal role for veterinarians seeking true mixed practice while still enjoying metropolitan living.

The Position

  • Well-supported role within a large, collaborative team of 10 veterinarians across two clinics

  • 4 x 9.5-hour weekday shifts with one rostered weekday off

  • 1 in 4 Saturday morning shifts

  • 1 in 7 weeknight on-call shifts and 1 in 7 weekends on call

  • 4 weeks annual leave plus 1 week paid study leave

  • $1,500 CPD allowance

  • Attractive remuneration package

  • Large and varied medical and surgical caseload, rarely limited by financial constraints

This role would suit a veterinarian who is motivated, versatile, and progressive, with a strong team focus and a genuine appreciation for a positive, fun, and supportive workplace culture.

The Clinics & Team

  • Independently owned group with hands-on leadership and approachable directors

  • Two fully equipped clinics featuring premium diagnostic and monitoring equipment

  • Strong nursing support, allowing veterinarians adequate consult time, uninterrupted lunch breaks, and reliable finishing times

  • Access to visiting specialists and excellent referral relationships

  • Opportunity to develop special interests, including equine dentistry, alpacas, small animal behaviour, and herd health

  • Supportive on-call structure with access to 24-hour emergency referral centres

The team culture is friendly, collaborative, and inclusive, with a strong emphasis on mentorship, case sharing, and professional development. Staff enjoy working in an environment where teamwork, respect, and wellbeing are prioritised.

The Role Offers

  • Exposure to diverse and interesting medical and surgical cases

  • Opportunities to build strong long-term client relationships

  • A healthy balance of professional challenge and lifestyle flexibility

  • A workplace that values collaboration, learning, and enjoyment
