  • Weekends: 1:5 rotation, with no on-call duties

  • Leadership time: Protected administration and management time each week

  • Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum (DOE)

The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will work closely with the Clinical Director to oversee clinical standards, team development, and day-to-day operations of the hospital. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the transition to a brand-new, purpose-built site featuring advanced facilities including CT.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and mentorship across the veterinary team

  • Supporting the move into the new hospital site and maintaining service continuity

  • Encouraging and guiding graduate and developing vets

About You

The ideal candidate will be a confident Veterinary Surgeon with proven leadership experience and a commitment to high-quality, patient-focused care. Ideally with an interest in small animal medicine or diagnostic imaging – and enjoy mentoring others while maintaining hands-on clinical work.

You’ll bring:

  • A calm, collaborative approach to problem-solving

  • Passion for developing both people and clinical standards

Why Apply?

This position offers true influence – the chance to help shape a brand-new hospital and its team from the ground up. The successful candidate will enjoy full operational support, a skilled nursing and administrative team, and access to leadership development opportunities within a supportive, progressive network.
