OOH ECC Veterinary Surgeon – Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK
£55,000 – £60,000 DOE
7 Nights On, 14 Nights Off | 24-Hour Hospital
Looking for a role where you can truly focus on emergency and critical care while enjoying an excellent work-life balance? We’re recruiting an experienced Out of Hours ECC Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-equipped 24/7 veterinary hospital in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and experienced team managing a varied and complex emergency caseload.
The Role
- 7 nights on / 14 nights off rota
- 8pm – 8am shifts
- Dedicated night team including RVN, VCAs and reception support
- 30-minute OOH consults as standard
- Manage a varied ECC caseload including medical and surgical emergencies
As part of an advanced practice environment, you will regularly manage cases such as:
- Caesareans and pyometra
- Exploratory laparotomy (including enterotomy and enterectomy)
- Addisonian crises
- Diabetic ketoacidosis
- Severe pancreatitis and other complex medical emergencies
Clinical Environment
You’ll be working in a modern 24-hour hospital equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including:
- In-house laboratory
- Digital X-ray and ultrasound
- ECG monitoring
- Dental suite with dental X-ray
- Orthopaedic surgical equipment
- Endoscopy
The hospital also benefits from in-house certificate holders in Surgery, Medicine and Dentistry, providing excellent clinical collaboration and case discussion.
What We’re Looking For
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Minimum 3 years UK veterinary experience
- Confident managing emergency and critical care cases
- Strong surgical and medical skills
- Ability to work independently overnight while collaborating with the wider team
