Night Veterinary Surgeon – Part Time – 7 On / 14 Off – Rotherham, South Yorkshire, UK

A well-established 24-hour small animal hospital in Rotherham, South Yorkshire is looking for an experienced Night Veterinary Surgeon to join its out-of-hours team on a permanent, part-time basis.

This is a purpose-built emergency and referral-level hospital with excellent facilities and a dedicated night nursing team, offering strong case continuity and a rota designed to protect work–life balance.

The Role

You will be responsible for all out-of-hours care within the hospital and associated local practices, working alongside a qualified night nurse.

• 7 nights on / 14 nights off rota

• Sole charge with nursing support

• Access to full patient histories via shared clinical systems

• Exposure to a varied and interesting OOH caseload

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care

• Manage medical and surgical OOH cases

• Create and communicate clear treatment plans

• Maintain excellent clinical and professional standards

• Work collaboratively with the wider hospital team

Candidate Requirements

• MRCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confident working in an OOH or emergency setting

• Strong clinical decision-making skills

• Commitment to patient care and clinical standards
