Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse ready to step into a leadership role within a modern referral hospital in Central Scotland? This is a fantastic opportunity to combine hands-on nursing with team leadership in a growing, forward-thinking specialist environment.
We’re supporting a state-of-the-art referral hospital seeking a confident RVN to lead their Wards Nursing team. You’ll play a key role in shaping and developing an exceptional referral nursing service while continuing to grow clinically alongside an expanding specialist team.

This is more than a ward role – it’s your chance to build, influence and lead.
You’ll be:
- Leading ward rounds, handovers and infection control to ensure a safe, organised clinical environment
- Supporting complex referral and intensive care cases
- Mentoring and developing RVNs and PCAs through coaching, CPD and regular feedback
- Working collaboratively with clinicians to ensure seamless patient care
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and hospital development projects
- Supporting client communication and ensuring an excellent patient and client journey
You’ll be part of a busy referral setting where caseloads can be high – but you’ll always be supported by a collaborative, team-focused environment committed to gold-standard care.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS registered)
- Has at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience
- Has leadership experience (formal or informal)
- Is confident making clinical decisions independently
- Thrives in a fast-paced referral or hospital environment
- Is passionate about mentoring others and building a positive team culture
Referral or hospital experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate with strong ward and leadership experience.
Benefits & Package
- Salary £35,000–£40,000 DOE
- 40-hour week with shared weekend and on-call rota
- Generous holiday allowance
- CPD allowance with support for further qualifications/certificates
- Supportive, collaborative referral environment
- Opportunity to influence clinical standards and service development
This is a brilliant opportunity for an ambitious RVN who wants to step up, shape a service, and make a lasting impact within a specialist referral setting.
