OOH Locum Veterinary Surgeon Midlands – Accommodation Allowance

Are you an experienced OOH Veterinary Surgeon looking for regular night shifts within a large, modern hospital environment?
 

I’m working with an established veterinary hospital in the Midlands that is looking for an experienced Locum Vet to support its OOH team from September onwards.
 

With availability throughout September, October, November and December, they are happy to consider blocks of dates or an ongoing arrangement for the right Vet.

The Hospital

This is a large, modern veterinary hospital with an extensive range of facilities, including:

• 6 operating theatres
• 9 consultation rooms
• CT
• Digital X-ray
• Endoscopy
• Dental facilities
• Chemotherapy suite
• Separate cat and dog wards

The hospital works with a varied caseload and is looking for an experienced Vet who genuinely enjoys OOH and ECC work.
 

The OOH Role

Working alongside an experienced OOH RVN, you’ll be responsible for managing hospital inpatients alongside any emergencies presenting throughout the night.

The practice is looking for a confident Vet who is comfortable working sole charge and independently assessing, stabilising, investigating and working up cases overnight (This isn’t a role for someone looking to simply patch cases up until the day team arrives!) 

They’re looking for a Vet who enjoys the clinical challenge and variety of OOH work and is confident making decisions and progressing cases appropriately throughout their shift.
 

Hours & Availability

Night Shifts: 7pm – 8am

Dates Available: September – Ongoing
 

The practice would particularly welcome Vets interested in regular blocks of nights or an ongoing arrangement, providing greater consistency for both the clinical team and patients.
 

Rate & Payroll

Up To £800 Per Night Worked

Payroll options considered:

• Sole Trader
• Umbrella Company
• LTD Company
• Zero Hours Contract
 

About You

To be considered, you’ll need to be:

• MRCVS registered
• 3+ years post-graduate experience
• Experienced within OOH and ECC
• Confident working sole charge
• Comfortable managing emergencies and hospital inpatients
• Confident working cases up independently overnight
• Happy working within a busy hospital environment
