The Opportunity

An exciting locum opportunity has become available within an OOH service in Oxfordshire. 

The practice is looking for an experienced Locum Veterinary Surgeon to provide annual leave cover across a block of 7 night shifts within a quieter OOH environment. This presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced ECC or confident GP vet looking for a manageable OOH caseload alongside strong nursing support.

The Practice

You’ll be working as the sole Veterinary Surgeon overnight alongside an experienced OOH RVN, allowing excellent support while maintaining clinical autonomy.

Accommodation is available locally, with public transport links available.

The Role

Typical Duties

• Sole charge Out of Hours consultations

• Emergency and urgent care presentations

• Overnight inpatient management

• Diagnostic work-ups and stabilisation

• Working closely with the overnight RVN 

This role would suit a vet who is confident with emergency presentations, decision-making, and overnight patient care.

Hours & Rota

Weekday Night Shifts

7:30pm – 8:30am
 

Weekend Night Shifts

6:30pm – 8:30am
