An independently owned, well-established three-vet small animal practice in Strathmore is seeking a full-time or part-time veterinarian to join the team. Paid trial shifts are encouraged to ensure a great mutual fit.

  • Busy, well-established small animal clinic with a loyal and trusting client base

  • Operating hours: Mon–Fri 9am–7pm | Sat 9am–2pm

  • Modern, well-equipped facility including DR radiography & dental radiography, IM3 dental suite, electrocautery, ECG, GE ultrasound, Bair Huggers, Heska in-house bloods, Tonovet, Doppler and more

  • Three consulting rooms and one dedicated surgery

  • Regular visiting medical consultant providing ultrasound, diagnostics, and case support

  • Close to AVC and ARH referral services

  • Highly skilled nursing team who assist with nurse consults, blood collection, IV catheter placement, and radiography

  • Convenient location on Napier Street with cafés and bakeries nearby, close to Calder & Tullamarine Freeways, plus free all-day street parking

About the Role

  • Ideally suited to a veterinarian with 3–5+ years’ clinical experience who enjoys a fast-paced environment

  • Adequate consult time is prioritised for thorough workups, with lunch breaks respected

  • Confidence in routine surgery required, with surgery shifts 1–2 days per week

    • Primarily desexings, dentals, lumpectomies and radiography

    • No orthopaedics

    • Occasional more complex procedures including blocked cats, exploratory laparotomies, pyometras, enucleations, amputations, and rabbit desexings

  • Mentorship and support available for vets keen to expand their surgical or medical skillset

  • Comfortable managing routine medical cases

  • Supportive and collaborative team environment with 2–4 vets rostered most days (no sole charge)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills valued

  • Friendly, approachable owners (one veterinarian, one practice manager) and an experienced head nurse

What’s on Offer

  • Generous and negotiable salary: minimum $130,000 + super (FT) or pro-rata for PT, depending on experience and performance
