Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon – 24-Hour Hospital | UK 👨‍⚕️

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced small animal vet with a passion for ECC, surgery, and inpatient care.


The Role

  • Part-time position (2 days per week + 1 in 4 weekends)
  • Fixed working pattern:
    • Wednesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm (consults)
    • Thursday: 9:00am – 8:00pm (consults)
  • 1 in 4 weekends (ECC & emergency consults only, no sole charge)
  • 30-minute consultations as standard
  • Varied and complex caseload across first opinion and emergency care
  • Work alongside a full clinical and management team at all times

About the Practice

  • RCVS-accredited 24-hour hospital and emergency service
  • Provides OOH and referral support to multiple local practices
  • Recently expanded facilities with access to advanced diagnostics, including CT imaging
  • Strong focus on clinical excellence, case continuity, and in-house progression
  • Collaborative, supportive team with certificate holders in surgery, medicine, and dentistry

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ UK small animal experience
  • Confident GP vet with ECC exposure
  • Strong all-rounder with solid surgical skills
  • Interest in ophthalmology, dermatology, or feline medicine (desirable, not essential)
  • Keen to develop clinically, with potential to build niche interests

Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £36,000 per annum (£60,000 FTE), dependent on experience
