Veterinary Surgeon

Independent | No OOH | 4 Day Week | North London – Good M25 Access 

Salary: £50,000 – £70,000+ DOE 
Full Time: 40 hours over 4 days | Part Time Considered (3 days) 
 

An independent small animal practice is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with 3+ years’ experience to join their friendly and supportive team.

This role has become available as one of their current vets is moving on to pursue a specialist internship, creating an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys a varied caseload within a well-equipped, close-knit practice.

With over 80% insured clients, the team are able to work cases up to a high standard and practise quality veterinary medicine.
 

The Practice

This is a well-established independent small animal practice with a strong reputation locally and a genuinely supportive team environment.

The practice is fully equipped with modern facilities and benefits from a loyal client base that allows for a thorough approach to diagnostics and treatment.

Facilities include:

  • Digital full body X-ray

  • Digital dental X-ray

  • Doppler flow ultrasound

  • Class IV therapeutic laser

  • Bespoke dental suite

  • Separate dog and cat kennels

  • Separate dog and cat waiting areas
     

The practice is also proud to hold:

  • RCVS Practice Standards Scheme Accreditation

  • ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic Award
     

The team currently consists of:

  • 2 Veterinary Surgeons

  • 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses

  • 1 Veterinary Care Assistant

  • 1 Full-time Receptionist
     

The Role

This role offers a nice balance of surgery and consults within a supportive and collaborative team.

The practice sees a wide variety of small animal cases, including some small furries, offering a varied and interesting caseload.

With no out-of-hours commitments, the role provides an excellent work-life balance while still offering strong clinical exposure.  There will be a small amount of sole charge vet duties usually including 1 weekday and the Saturday morning shift only. 

Hours & Salary

  • Salary: £50,000 – £70,000+ DOE and additional certificates 

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week (Typically worked across 4 days) 

  • Part-time applicants considered (3 days per week)

  • 1 in 3 Saturdays – mornings only (8.30am – 12.30pm) 

  • No OOH – Closed on Sundays
     

RCVS Fees Paid After 6 Months, VDS Covered, CPD Up to To £1,000, 

About You

The practice is ideally looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with 3+ years’ experience who enjoys both medical and surgical work.

You will:

  • Be confident with routine consultations and surgery

  • Enjoy working as part of a small, collaborative team

  • Have strong communication skills with clients and colleagues

  • Be passionate about delivering high standards of patient care

The practice is situated within a shopping village close to the M25, making it easily accessible from surrounding areas while offering a pleasant working environment with local amenities nearby.
