Practice Manager | Veterinary Clinic | Northern Suburbs | Full Time
An established small animal veterinary clinic in Melbourne’s northern suburbs is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead day-to-day operations and support a high-performing clinical team.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys balancing people leadership, operational management, and financial performance within a busy, well-run practice. Working closely with the clinical leadership team, you will play a key role in driving team engagement, client experience, and overall clinic success.
This is primarily a Monday–Friday position, offering stability, autonomy, and the opportunity to take ownership of clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and support a team of veterinarians, nurses, and support staff
- Oversee daily operations including rostering, stock control, systems, and compliance
- Manage financial performance, including budgets, KPIs, reporting, and cost control
- Drive a high standard of client service and experience
- Manage HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
- Handle client feedback and complaints professionally
- Partner with clinical leaders to align operational and clinical priorities
About You:
- 1–2+ years’ experience in a Practice Manager or similar leadership role
- Veterinary industry experience required (nursing background highly regarded)
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent experience
- Confident people leader with a coaching and mentoring style
- Strong financial acumen across budgets, KPIs, and business performance
- Experience in HR, recruitment, and team development
- Excellent communication and client management skills
- Familiarity with practice management systems (e.g. EzyVet)
- Solid understanding of compliance, WHS, and operational best practice
